General information about cloud server images
An image is an exact copy of a volume's file system and its content. You can create cloud servers or create boot volumes for cloud servers.
Available options:
- Ready-to-use images — images with a pre-installed operating system, prepared by Servercore specialists; ;
- custom images — images that you can manually upload to the image storage.
You can manage images in the control panel, using OpenStack CLI or Terraform.

Records of cloud server image operations are saved in audit logs.
Ready-to-use images
Ready-to-use images are prepared by Servercore specialists. Each ready-to-use image has a prepared working environment, necessary configuration, and proper setup. Images are fully compatible with the cloud platform.
Посмотреть актуальный список готовых образов можно in панели управления: in верхнем меню нажмите Продукты → Облачные серверы → нажмите Создать сервер → блок Источник → вкладка ОС.
Custom images
If you need an image for a cloud server that is not on the list of ready-to-use images, you can upload your own image to the image storage.
Custom images allow you to migrate servers from other cloud platforms or within the Servercore cloud platform, and disk images allow you to clone cloud servers.
Поддерживаются форматы образов .aki, .ami, .ari, .iso, .raw, .qcow2, .vdi, .vhd, .vhdx and .vmdk. Для некоторых образов формата .ami (образы Amazon Machine Image для запуска сервера) требуется дополнительная загрузка образов .aki (образ ядра Amazon) and .ari (образ оперативной памяти Amazon).
Supported container formats include .aki, .ami, .ari, .bare, .ova, .ovf.
Pricing
Most ready-to-use images are included in the cloud server price and are not charged separately. Astra Linux and RED OS images are charged additionally because these operating systems require a license. You can view the license cost for a specific OS version in the control panel when creating a server.
The storage cost for a custom image depends on its size and the pool to which it is uploaded. Custom images are billed according to the cloud platform payment model.
