Recreate load balancer instance

You can recreate a load balancer instance if:

  • you have changed network settings in the subnet where the load balancer is running, and you need to apply the new settings to the load balancer;
  • you have changed load balancer settings, and the instance configuration status has changed to ERROR.

When you recreate an instance, a new instance is created, traffic is switched to it, and then the old instance is deleted. If the load balancer has redundancy, the reserve instance is recreated first, followed by the primary instance.

Recreation can take up to five seconds; during this time, the load balancer will not accept traffic. All load balancer settings, rules, and target groups will be saved.

Recreate load balancer instance

  1. In the Control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select Cloud Servers.

  2. Go to the Load Balancers section → Load Balancers tab.

  3. In the menu of the load balancer, select Recreate load balancer instance.

  4. Click Recreate.

    When the instance configuration status changes to ACTIVE, the recreation is complete. If the instance configuration status changes to ERROR, one or both instances have not been recreated, and the old instances continue to operate with the previous settings. For diagnostics, create a ticket.
