Manage load balancer operation

You can manage load balancer operation: turn off and turn on.

Turn off load balancer

If a load balancer is turned off, you are still charged for it.

Control panel

1. In the Control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select Cloud Servers.
2. Go to the Load Balancers section → Load Balancers tab.
3. In the balancer menu, select Turn Off Balancer. The balancer will switch to the OFFLINE.

OpenStack CLI

1. Open the OpenStack CLI.

2. Turn off the load balancer:

   openstack loadbalancer set --disable <loadbalancer>

   Specify <loadbalancer> — the balancer ID or name. You can view the list using the openstack loadbalancer list.

   The balancer will switch to the status OFFLINE.

Turn on load balancer

Control panel

1. In the Control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select Cloud Servers.
2. Go to the Load Balancers section → Load Balancers tab.
3. In the balancer menu, select Turn On Balancer. The balancer will switch to the ACTIVE.

OpenStack CLI

1. Open the OpenStack CLI.

2. Turn on the load balancer:

   openstack loadbalancer set --enable <loadbalancer>

   Specify <loadbalancer> — the balancer ID or name. You can view the list using the openstack loadbalancer list.

   The balancer will switch to the status ACTIVE.
