Change private network port domain name

You can change the domain name of a cloud server or Managed Kubernetes cluster port. If the private network is added to a DNS zone, the corresponding A or AAAA record in the DNS zone will be updated automatically.

Control panel

1. In the control panel, in the top menu, click Products and select Cloud Servers.

2. Go to Network → Private networks.

3. Open the network page.

4. Make sure that the network is added to a DNS zone: check if the DNS zone field with the zone name is present under the network name. If the field is missing, the network is not added to the zone — add the network to the DNS zone and return to step 1.

5. Open the Ports tab.

6. In the card of the cloud server or Managed Kubernetes cluster port, next to the domain name, click .

7. Enter a new domain name.

8. Click Save.

OpenStack CLI

1. Make sure that the network is added to the DNS zone:

   1.1. In the control panel, in the top menu, click Products and select Cloud Servers.

   1.2. Go to Network → Private networks.

   1.3. Open the network page.

   1.4. Check if the DNS zone field with the zone name is present under the network name. If the field is missing, the network is not added to the zone — add the network to the DNS zone and return to step 1.

2. Open the OpenStack CLI.

3. View the list of ports in the subnet and copy the ID or name of the required port:

   openstack port list --subnet <subnet>

   Specify <subnet> — the ID or name of the subnet, which can be viewed using the command openstack subnet list.

4. Change the port domain name:

   openstack port set --dns-name <subdomain> <port>

   Specify:

   • <subdomain> — the new domain name of the port, up to 63 characters: digits, Latin letters, and hyphens;
   • <port> — the ID or name of the port that you copied in step 2.
