Order a dedicated server of custom configuration

  1. Select components.
  2. Place an order.

1. Select components

In the server configurator, components are selected by default starting with the processor and continuing in sequence. You can change the order of component selection and start with the video card. Once a component is selected, incompatible components in subsequent steps are excluded.

If you need help selecting components, create a ticket or contact us through other methods — you can view our contact details at servercore.com.

  1. In the Control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select Dedicated Servers.

  2. Select a project.

  3. If there are created servers in the project, in the Servers section, click Order Server. If there are no servers in the project, the order page will open automatically.

  4. Open the Server configurator tab.

  5. Optional: select a region and pool in which the server will be created. The list of available components depends on the pool. Once the order is placed, the region and pool cannot be changed.

  6. Select a processor and specify the required quantity if it supports multi-processor systems. Once the order is placed, the processor in the server cannot be replaced. If a different processor or a change in the number of processors is required, order a new server.

  7. Configure RAM:

    • select the total memory capacity;
    • or configure memory modules — to do this, click Manage memory modules, select the module capacity, and specify the required quantity.
  8. Add disks:

8.1. To connect a disk directly to the motherboard, click Add disk, select the disk, and specify the required quantity.

NVMe disks may be unavailable if the motherboard for your selected configuration does not have suitable slots — in this case, you can connect NVMe disks via an HBA controller in step 8.2.

8.2. To connect a disk via an HBA or RAID controller, click Add HBA or RAID controller, select the controller, click Add disk to controller, select the disk, and specify the required quantity.

  9. Optional: add additional network cards. You can select a slot for the network card — PCI-e or OCP. If there are no available slots on the motherboard for the selected configuration, the slot selection will be unavailable. For example, if there is no OCP slot on the motherboard, the network card will only be available in a PCI-e slot.

  10. Optional: add a GPU and specify the required quantity.

  11. Optional: add PCI-e trusted boot devices and specify the required quantity.

  12. Select a motherboard. If there is only one motherboard option available for the selected configuration, the field will be filled in automatically.

  13. Select a chassis. If there is only one chassis option available for the selected configuration, the field will be filled in automatically.

  14. In the Configuration block:

14.1. Check the dedicated server configuration.

    14.2. Select a pricing plan.

14.3. Click Order Server. You will be redirected to place the order.

2. Place an order

  1. On the Checkout tab, check the dedicated server configuration.

  2. Check the region and pool in which your server will be hosted. If necessary, change the region and pool. Once the order is placed, the region and pool cannot be changed.

  3. Optional: if you have added one hardware RAID controller to your server configuration and will be using a Linux-based OS, set up a RAID array.

Disks of the same size that were added to the RAID controller are automatically combined into one RAID array.

To set up a RAID array:

3.1. Click Add RAID array or change the disk composition in an existing array.

3.2. Select the disks you want to add to the RAID array.

3.3. Select the RAID array level. Pay attention to the configuration features of software RAID in the Control Panel:

    • only two disks can be added to a RAID1 array;
    • Automatic OS installation is available only for Linux-based OS and for RAID1 and RAID0 level arrays.
  4. Select an operating system for automatic installation on the server. To select:

  5. Optional: select a system disk on which the OS will be installed. If you selected a Linux-based OS in step 4, you can partition the disks and configure software RAID.

  6. Optional: for a secure connection to the server via the encrypted SSH protocol, select a previously uploaded and placed SSH key or add a new one. Learn more in the Create and upload an SSH key on a dedicated server guide.

  7. Optional: if you have a Linux-based OS and no HBA or RAID controllers have been added to the server configuration, the User data field will be available. To automate server configuration, specify the server parameters in cloud-config or bash script format. Learn more in the User data examples section.

  8. Select a traffic consumption model.

  9. Select a pricing plan.

  10. Specify the required number of servers.

  11. Optional: if you selected an OS for automatic installation in step 4, configure the IP address by selecting a VLAN:

  12. Optional: enter a comment for the order. For example, specify equipment connection features or the required disk installation order. The disk installation order affects the order in which they are detected in the system. By default, disks are installed in the following order: NVMe → SSD → HDD. If a system disk is not assigned in the partitioning, the OS will be installed on the disk that is detected first in the system.

  13. Optional: on the Additional Services tab, see the list of additional services. You can order additional services after the server is provisioned.

  14. Confirm that you agree to the payment terms and conditions.

  15. Click Pay now.

  16. Review the order information and click Pay. Depending on the selected components, server preparation can take from one to five working days. When the server is ready to be provisioned, you will receive a notification via email and will be able to connect to it. The paid period begins from the moment the server is provisioned. The server password will be available for viewing for 24 hours from the time the server was provisioned. If you forget the password, you can reset and recover it.
