Copying data from a server via Rescue using the SFTP protocol

SFTP is an application-level file transfer protocol that runs over a reliable and secure SSH connection.

  1. Ensure that you have an SFTP client installed, such as FileZilla.
  2. Boot your server into Rescue mode.
  3. Mount the OS file system.
  4. Connect to the server using your SFTP client. The connection process depends on the client you choose.
  5. Copy data from the server.
  6. Return the previous server boot template or reboot the server from the OS. When you reboot the server from the OS, the boot template will automatically change to the one that was set before the server boot template was changed.
