General information about the Direct Connect service
Direct Connect is a connection between external network infrastructure and infrastructure inside Servercore. Using Direct Connect, you can connect hardware in a Servercore data center to any external infrastructure, as well as connect to the Internet through a telecom operator in the Servercore data center.
Infrastructure on the Servercore side can include dedicated and cloud servers, cloud databases, Managed Kubernetes cluster nodes, file storage .
How it works
A port is provided on a Servercore access switch. The telecom operator link is connected to this port, leading to your external infrastructure or providing Internet access. The hardware used to establish the connection depends on the bandwidth — 1 or 10 Gbps, as well as the cross-connect type — copper or fiber-optic.
A global router is used to organize network connectivity between the telecom operator and your hardware inside Servercore infrastructure. The operator link is connected to a port on the access switch. Connectivity with your hardware is organized at L3 via the global router. Direct connection of the telecom operator link to your hardware is not available.
You choose the telecom operator yourself, rent and pay for the link, and check the cross-connect to the operator. To connect to external infrastructure, the selected operator must be present at the site where the external infrastructure is located and in the availability zone where the Servercore switch is located.

Cost
The cost of the Direct Connect — Physical Port service depends on:
- port speed — 1 or 10 Gbps;
- the need for link redundancy.
