Stop lists

A stop list is a list of email addresses that are excluded from the recipient list when sending a mailing.

There are two types of stop lists in the mail service:

  • local — stop list of your domain. Includes addresses from which sending a mailing from your domain returned a 5 ** error, an unsubscribe request, or a spam complaint;
  • global — the general stop list of the service. Includes all addresses that have ever returned a 5 ** error when sending mailings through the service. It also contains the database of the Mailvalidator service — spam traps, invalid addresses, addresses with frequent spam complaints.

If an address is found in the stop list, the email will not be sent to it, and the SMTP dialogue will return the error 550 bounced check filter. If an email has multiple recipients and at least one address is found in the stop list, the email will not be sent to anyone, and sending must be repeated separately for each recipient.

Stop lists cannot be disabled or their list of addresses viewed. You can find and remove a specific email address from the local stop list. An address cannot be removed from the global stop list.

Find and remove an email address from the local stop list

  1. In the Control panel, in the top menu, click Products and select Email Service.

  2. Open the resource page → Stop lists tab.

  3. In the Recipient address field, enter the email address to which the mailing cannot be sent.

  4. Click Search stop lists.

  5. Optional: if the address is on the stop list and you believe it got there by mistake, remove it from the stop list. To do this, select the address and click Delete address.

    If the address is not found in the stop list, but mailings are not delivered to it, create a ticket. In the ticket, specify the domain from which you are trying to send an email to this address.
