General information about NTP
NTP (Network Time Protocol) is used to synchronize the time on servers with a precise time source.
A client is installed on the server, which runs as a system service and regularly requests the precise time from a source—a specific NTP server. We recommend using Servercore NTP servers but you can use any available NTP servers.
In the OS images provided by Servercore, all necessary settings for NTP time synchronization are already configured. If you are using your own ISO image with an operating system distribution, configure NTP synchronization from the OS side:
