Manage PTR records

A PTR record, or reverse resource record, allows you to assign a name (domain) to an IP address. For example, mail servers check the PTR record of the sender's IP address.

The control panel displays:

Add a PTR record

  1. In the control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select IP Addresses.
  2. In the menu for the IP address, select Add PTR.
  3. Enter a domain name (e.g., example.com).
  4. Click Save.

Edit a PTR record

  1. In the control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select IP Addresses.
  2. In the menu for the IP address, select Edit PTR.
  3. Enter a new domain name (e.g., example.com).
  4. Click Save.

Delete a PTR record

  1. In the control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select IP Addresses.
  2. In the menu for the IP address, select Delete PTR.
  3. Click Delete.
