General information about the Metrics service

The Metrics service is designed for collecting, storing, and analyzing metrics of Servercore products.

You can collect metrics for:

  • dedicated servers;
  • cloud servers, attached volumes, and private networks.

Metrics allow you to evaluate resource utilization, identify bottlenecks in your applications and infrastructure, and distinguish between one-time anomalies and systemic degradation.

How it works

The Metrics service automatically collects metrics on the state of your resources. A metric (metric) is a quantitative indicator of performance in Prometheus-format.

A metric is a single entry consisting of three components:

  • metric_name – the name of the metric;
  • label_name – the name of the metric label;
  • label_value – the label value.

Metrics that relate to specific products or services are grouped into a namespace (namespace). Namespaces are fixed and cannot be changed.

How to use the Metrics service

You can view and analyze metrics using metric collection agents:

You can also visualize metrics using Grafana or view system dashboards in the Control Panel.

You can check the availability of the Metrics service across regions in the Metrics availability matrix.
