S3 limits
By default, S3 does not have any limits; you can store any volume of files as long as there are funds in your account to pay for the storage.
To control the volume of data being uploaded and resource consumption, you can set a limit on the volume of data stored in all project buckets. Limits for a specific bucket can be set separately; learn more in the Bucket limits guide.
If a limit is set:
- when the storage usage reaches 90% of the set limit, a warning will appear in the control panel;
- when the limit is reached, a notification will appear in the control panel, and the storage will return an error when you attempt to upload objects. To continue uploading, free up space or increase the limit.
Set a limit
- In the Control Panel, click IAM in the top menu.
- Go to the Projects section.
- Open the project page → Quotas and limits tab → S3.
- Select the region and pool where you want to set the limit.
- Click Edit limit.
- Enable the Maximum size toggle.
- Enter the limit value in gigabytes.
- Click Save.
