Manage cloud servers in a load balancer rule

Manage cloud servers in a load balancer rule

Make the server redundant

The cloud server in the rule can be made redundant — it will be included in the rule, but will stop receiving requests as long as at least one server in the rule is available. If all servers in the rule are unavailable, the standby server will come online.

  1. In Control Panel, go to Cloud PlatformBalancers.
  2. Open the balancer card → Servers tab.
  3. From the ( ) menu of the server, select Make Backup.

Suspend server

You can suspend the server when performing work on the server, for example, when updating the application or rebooting — the server will temporarily not process requests.

There is no need to exclude the server from the load balancer rule — it will continue to process traffic as soon as you resume its operation.

  1. In Control Panel, go to Cloud PlatformBalancers.
  2. Open the balancer card → Servers tab.
  3. From the ( ) server menu, select Suspend.
  4. To reactivate the server, select Unlock.

Add server to rule

You can add the cloud server to a rule in the load balancer you created.

  1. In Control Panel, go to Cloud PlatformBalancers.
  2. Open the balancer card → Servers tab.
  3. Click Add Server.
  4. Select a server.
  5. Press Add.

Remove server from rule

  1. In Control Panel, go to Cloud PlatformBalancers.
  2. Open the balancer card → Servers tab.
  3. From the ( ) server menu, select Remove from rule.
