Configure IPv6 addressing for the cloud server

Configure IPv6 addressing for the cloud server

Public subnets in the cloud platform can be used simultaneously with IPv4 and IPv6 addressing.

An IPv6 subnet of size /64 can be added to any IPv4 subnet. Public IPv6 subnets are not displayed in the Control Panel.

  1. Create a public subnet.
  2. Create a ticket with a request to connect IPv6 addressing for a public subnet.
  3. Configure the public subnetwork network interface on the cloud server.

1. Create a public subnet

Use the Create public subnet instruction.

2. Create a ticket

  1. Create a ticket requesting to connect IPv6 addressing for a public subnet. Specify:

    • Project ID. You can view the ID in control panel: go to Cloud Platform → open the projects menu (name of the current project) → in the line of the desired project click ;
    • CIDR of a public IPv4 subnet. You can view the CIDR in control panel: go to Cloud PlatformNetworkPublic Subnets tab → subnet card;
    • pool where the public subnet is located.
  2. We will send the IPv6 subnet data in a ticket.

3. Configure the network interface of the public subnet

Configure the public subnet network interface on the cloud server. When setting up, use:

  • default gateway is the first address of the public IPv6 subnet (::1);
