DNS and NTP servers

DNS

DNS (Domain Name System) is used to translate a domain name into an IP address and back again.

We recommend using Servercore's 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 or World DNS recursors, but you can use any available DNS servers.

In the OS images prepared by Servercore, all necessary settings for DNS are made. For a dedicated server, when installing the OS from its ISO image, configure OS-side DNS.

NTP

NTP (Network Time Protocol) is used to synchronize time on servers.

You can use any available NTP servers.

In the OS images provided by Servercore, all the necessary settings for NTP are made. If you are using your ISO image with your operating system distribution, configure NTP on the OS side:
