Modify the rack for a dedicated server
Any ordered server will be located in a rack in the server room.Read more in the Pool Instructions subsection Countries, regions, availability zones, pools and data center addresses.
Servers of ready configuration, including Chipcore, are installed in racks in advance.Servers of arbitrary configuration after ordering are installed in free places in racks. When ordering several servers, our algorithm analyzes technical capabilities at the time of ordering and tries to place servers in different racks to improve fault tolerance.
Each rack has three points of failure: Internet port, local port and power supply. In extremely rare cases, rack availability can be disrupted. If service downtime, even for a few minutes, is critical, we recommend that you arrange servers in such a way that servers of the same project are located in different racks. This will minimize the risk of service unavailability in the event of a rack failure.
You can view the current location of servers and submit a request to move a server to another rack in the control panel: in the top menu, click Products and select Dedicated Servers → Servers → Rack Location tab.
